Generative Engine Optimization
Search moved from links to answers — and now from answers to action.
K-MONSTER runs its own GEO methodology so generative AIs — ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Doubao, DeepSeek — understand, verify, and cite our clients’ brands and hospitals.
SEO vs AEO vs GEO
| Category | SEO | AEO | GEO |
|---|---|---|---|
| Goal | Raise page ranking | Get adopted as the answer | Get cited/recommended inside AI answers |
| Target | Google & traditional search | Voice assistants, snippets, some chatbots | Generative AI broadly |
| Core asset | Keywords, backlinks | Clear Q&A structure | Structured data, trust signals, citability |
| Measured by | Rank, CTR | Snippet adoption | Citation count, mention share |
The three aren’t mutually exclusive. SEO fundamentals (structure, backlinks, trust) underpin AEO and GEO, while GEO additionally requires a signal layer AI can understand, verify and cite.
The reality, in numbers (as of 2026)
| ChatGPT weekly active users | 900M+OpenAI · 2026-02 |
| Gemini app monthly users | 950MAlphabet Q2 2026 |
| Google AI Mode monthly users | 1B+Alphabet Q2 2026 |
| ChatGPT app monthly users in South Korea | 23.45MWiseApp·Retail · 2026-04 |
The front door of search is moving to AI answers — and which brand, hospital or product the AI mentions is the new battlefield.

How GEO actually works
The five layers stack in order — skip one and the whole effect weakens. K-MONSTER acts on ① ② ③ first; ④ ⑤ build over time alongside media and association relationships.
Act Everywhere — why K-MONSTER is built for this
The next phase isn’t AI merely mentioning a brand — it’s AI comparing, booking, and paying on the user’s behalf. K-MONSTER’s long-standing ‘Engine (data) → Trust (association) → Distribution (platform)’ structure is essentially the same skeleton this next phase requires.
| K-MONSTER’s existing structure | What the next era requires | Gap |
|---|---|---|
| Engine (creator/hospital DB) | Discoverability | Needs structured feeds & llms.txt |
| Trust (registrations & certifications) | Accessibility | Certification data must be exposed as structured data |
| Distribution (B2B matching platform) | Executability | Needs booking/contract automation APIs |

Yes. The industry consensus is “no GEO without SEO.” SEO’s structure, backlinks and trust form the foundation GEO builds on, and GEO adds an AI-specific signal layer on top.
No. Expecting instant results from llms.txt or schema alone is an over-confidence risk. It only works combined with content authority and external citations — the standalone effect is not yet well verified.
It’s a strategic choice. Blocking prevents your content from training AI, but it also removes any chance of being cited. K-MONSTER recommends allowing access by default, since expanding citation opportunities is the priority.
